How are you different from all the other Chiropractors?
Dr. Unfried has a variety of methods that he uses to treat his patients depending on their need. Whether it is low force techniques, activator tools, Decompression, Spinalators, ART, or the most sensitive tool..... his hands. Along with adjustment to the problematic areas, Dr. Unfried will prescribe corrective exercises and spend at least ten minutes performing mucscle therapy, ART, to aid and speed up the road to recovery. Lately, everyone has been talking about muscle memory. Muscle memory is your body's natural intelligence in which it becomes familiar with a certain type of movement after being done over an extended period of time. Your brain reprograms itself to do the movement using the least amount of energy as possible, like in a golfer's swing. Not all muscle memory is good. For example, people who have jobs who sit at a desk all day, often the muscle in their upper back become shortened and can cause headaches.

The actual name is Active Release Technique. Dr. Unfried uses ART in conjunction with his adjusting. When ART is put with the power of an adjustment, the result is a quicker break in the muscle memory cycle. The adjustment affects the nervous system, which affects the entire body, including the muscular system. What ART does is help re-educate that targeted muscle by putting the muscle itself through it's full range of motion while Dr. Unfried applies compression, tension, and line of drive the effected soft tissue.
